Tour Summary
Held in memory of an ultimate sacrifice made by a princess, hundreds gather in eastern Bhutan and from the neighbouring state of Arunachal Pradesh, India, for three days each year to go round the great stupa built there and accumulate religious merit. The princess was a pious Dakini from the Dakpa tribe in Arunachal Pradesh who offered to entomb herself alive to meditate inside the stupa on behalf of all beings.
This tour package includes visits starting from Paro in western Bhutan, Bhutan’s capital city Thimphu, the ancient capital in Punakha, the central valley of Bumthang, and three eastern districts finally exiting from Guwahati, the capital of the eastern Indian state of Assam.
